Trophy winners: The successful squad return victorious after beating a team from the Channel Islands in 1986/87
A DIVE into the archives by one Burnham Pool supporter has provided the Weekly News with an insight into important dates in the facility's history.
Janet Rands, from Wells Close in Burnham, is a regular swimmer at the pool and watched her daughter Alison compete successfully in several events for Burnham Swimming Club throughout the 1980s.
She has provided a splash of photographs depicting important dates in the pool's past - demonstrating why Burnham Pool has had such passionate backing from residents and campaigners to keep it open.
The first photograph, taken in 1988, shows Burnham Swimming Club after scooping the Cotswold League Cup title for the second time in three years.
It's all smiles from members of the team, as they pose by the side of the pool with their coaches.
The next shot features Olympic medal winning swimmer and Burnham Pool backer Sharron Davies, during a visit to the pool in 1988.

Alison Rands took part in a sponsored swimathon for Adopt-a-sport - which was raising money to send the British Olympic team to the Seoul Games - and was greeted by Sharron after her swim.
The third picture shows members of Burnham Swimming Club in the 1986/87 season, after a trophy-winning trip to the Channel Islands.
Competitors in the successful squad, which includes Alison (centre), are pictured with their prize following victory against Beau Sejour Swimming Club by 307 points to 248.
The final photograph was featured in the Burnham and Highbridge Gazette, now your Weekly News, and again shows smiling athletes celebrating a swim win.
The picture, from 1988, features the uniformed team fresh from beating 1987 champions Cheltenham in the Cotswold League.
Do you recognise yourself or anybody else in the pictures? Do you have any other photographs of the pool?
