Real hero over fight for pool

Reference Burnham Pool. As a triathlete I am delighted that our pool has been bought by another triathlete.

For me, the real hero over the fight to save the pool (apart from Tom Aston SOS Splendid Campaign) has been deputy Mayor Counsellor Neville Jones, OBE, who was the first to object to the closure.

This gentleman who spent 21 years as chairman of the King Alfred Sports Centre, has always been a champion of athletes young and old. His contribution in saving the pool goes back several months of careful negotiations for its' future.

We owe a great deal to this WWII veteran who thinks (as I do) that Burnham is a great town and fights his corner to keep it that way.
