THE perseverance and
determination of ten-year-old
Giles Moore of Horton has made
him an inspiration to others - and
have now earned him a Winner's
certificate in the first Pride of
Somerset Youth Awards.
Nominating him for an award,
friend Steven Lowe said: "Giles
and I have something in common
- we were both born with wonky
feet.Mine were easy to correct but
Giles' were not and so far he has
had more than 12 operations."
Giles has Bilateral Talipes and
last year spent six months in a
wheelchair after a special frame
was put on his foot with 16 pins in
his leg having to be turned with
spanners three times a day.
Since then he has shown superb
courage and determination to not
only be able to walk but play in
goal for his school's football team.
Steven added: "He has made
some fantastic saves!
"Giles would not want you to feel
sorry for him and would be
embarrassed to have a fuss made.

"He is brave and never
complains about the things he has
to put up with, even though quite
often he is in a lot of pain.
