YOUNG sportswoman Stacey Howe, of Yeovil, was judged as Highly Commended in the youth awards.

Stacey, 17, plays hockey for Somerset, enjoys volleyball and is a key member of several winning teams.

She is also a gymnastics coach at St Michael's Gym in Yeovil.

In August she is going to South Africa to teach underprivileged children sport and English.

Her nomination reads: "She is an amazingly grown up girl who puts herself out for anyone and always gives her all."
