Generous fundraisers: The Moose Ladies Circle gave seven hundred pounds to charities in the area.

GENEROUS fundraisers from Burnham's Moose International Lodge 123 handed across more than £6,000 in cheques at Berrow Village Hall last week.

The annual pay out saw charities in the Burnham and Highbridge area benefit from the cash raising efforts of Moose members and national organisations.

The Moose Ladies Circle presented £3,200 to disabled children's charity Whizz-Kidz, to add to the £1,600 the Moose Brothers had already given to the organisation.

Brother Brian Saunders also presented £200 to Whizz-Kidz, earned by delivering talks about his stage work.

Moose governor Terry Cornelius presented £500 to Kate Budderly of the Jessie May Trust and seven other charities were then given donations on behalf of Burnham's Moose members.

Burnham and Highbridge Stroke Club received £100, along with the Retinitus Pigmentosa charity, Burnham's Sea Cadets, Burnham Hospital's League of Friends, Sounds and Voices, The Jordan Fund and Sedgemoor Badgers.
