BURNHAM'S Princess Theatre will welcome leading David Bowie and Fleetwood Mac tribute acts next month.

Absolute Bowie will take to the stage on Friday, September 9, and The Fleetwood Mac Songbook will perform on Tuesday, September 22. Both shows will start at 7.30pm.

The award-winning Bowie tribute stars John O’Neill, who is supported by a guitarist, bassist, keyboard player, drummer and saxophonist.

The show promises to deliver an “electrifying performance from our main Starman and theatrical mid-set costume ch-ch-ch-anges” as it takes audiences on a musical journey through the icon's greatest hits.

A show description says: “David Bowie’s evolving image has mesmerised fans since the early 70s and, for the first time ever, Absolute Bowie will take audiences on a trip that presents all his best-loved personas in all their glory.

“Performed by a world class five-piece band, this unique concert features two long sets and more costume changes than any other show.

“The band have listened to fans and evolved the show’s setlist to really give an all-killer performance and no Bowie fan is left out.”

That will be followed by the show dedicated to British-American rock band Fleetwood Mac, who rose to fame in the 1970s.

The six-piece band will “perform a spellbinding recreation of the stellar songbook of Fleetwood Mac, drawing from over six decades of songs”.

A show description says: “Their set of course includes soft rock anthems from the Rumours and Tango In The Night albums, but they don’t forget founding member, Blues guitar legend Peter Green, and dedicate a portion of the show to a selection of his work.

“Every detail is immaculate to ensure that the unmistakable ‘Mac’ sound is recreated faithfully.

“The exceptional three-part harmonies are a standout as well as the band’s guitarist using the famous Lindsey Buckingham Rick Turner model of guitar that gives the songs that final polish.”

Tickets for Absolute Bowie and The Fleetwood Mac Songbook will cost £19.50 and £18 respectively. They can be purchased online or from The Princess Theatre's box office.
