Louise Redknapp has revealed she and her husband, former professional footballer Jamie, laughed about the dreaded “Strictly Curse”.
The so-called “curse” of the popular BBC One dancing show has seen marriages and relationships ruined when celebrities fall for their professional dance partners.
The former Eternal member told Hello!: “After so many years, it’ll take more than Strictly and a sparkly leotard to cause problems.”
She has been married to Jamie since 1998 and the couple have two sons – Charley, 12, and Beau, who is seven.
The singer and television star is partnered with Kevin Clifton on Strictly Come Dancing, and the pair have received consistently good scores from the judges.
She revealed that her husband “gets really nervous” when she performs on the show.
“When he came to watch filming he said he felt sick. He couldn’t contain his nerves,” she told Hello!.
The 41-year-old also spoke about who is the “tougher parent”, saying: “Oh, Jamie’s much more strict than I am.
“I’ll do anything for an easy life. He’s brilliant, I have to say. If they want new football boots, they have to earn them.
“Our eldest is desperate for an iPhone. All his friends have them and Jamie’s like, ‘No, no, no. When I feel the time is right and you’ve earned one, you’ll get one’.
“It has to be for Christmas, a birthday or when he has done something brilliant such as performing well in an exam.”
