Elizabeth Banks and Diane Kruger appeared to be congratulating each other on their great sense of style as they attended the opening night of the Venice Film Festival in coordinating white dresses.
The two stars – who are on the jury at this year’s festival – looked dazzling on the red carpet for the premiere of drama Everest, starring Jake Gyllenhaal and Josh Brolin.
Their matching dresses may account for the Italian media confusing the pair – running an interview with The Hunger Games star Elizabeth, naming her as The Bridge actress Diane.
Elizabeth showed off a sparkling cut out on the back of her dress, while Diane sported a glittering cape.
Despite all the white dresses, model Alessandra Ambrosio managed to stand out in her see-through gown. Her underwear is not such a Victoria’s Secret in that frock!
Spanish actress Paz Vega, who is also on the jury this year, gave her white look a jewel-encrusted twist.
Meanwhile, Everest star Jake was mobbed by excited fans.
The film tells the true story of an ill-fated expedition up the world’s highest mountain in 1996, which saw several climbers die when they were trapped in a snowstorm.
British actress Emily Watson, who also stars in the film, didn’t appear to have got the white dress memo, but looked elegant in emerald.
Jake was spotted in deep conversation with co-star Josh inside the theatre. Now just what are they talking about?
