TALENTED entertainers are being sought by Bridgwater Guy Fawkes Carnival Committee to be ‘front-of-curtain’ acts at this year’s carnival concerts.

Vocalists, musicians, comedians, magicians, jugglers and dancers are all wanted to appear in the popular show which takes place between September 30 and October 12.

The shows are expected to attract a sell-out audience of 3,500 people and auditions for the prestigious spots will take place at Bridgwater Town Hall on Tuesday, March 19.

Interested entertainers who think they have got what it takes and who would like to audition need to apply by contacting Rita Jones on 01823-251429.

Alternatively, e-mai her at rita@bridgwatercarnival.org.uk or by completing the relevant application form on the website at www.bridgwatercarnival.org.uk.

Send your completed forms to Rita at 60 Clifford Avenue, Taunton, Somerset, TA2 6DL by March 9 at the latest.

Dave Stokes, publicity for Bridgwater Guy Fawkes Carnival, said: “We would love to hear from individuals and groups who enjoy performing in front of an audience, and who can entertain for a five- minute slot at this year’s show.

“If last year’s auditions are anything to go by, then the judges will have an extremely difficult task in selecting the acts that will go through to the concerts.”

At the 2012 carnival concerts, successful front-of-curtain acts included Ashley Quinn, who scooped the best single vocalist award, and dance troupe Best Foot Forward who won the Bert Snook Rose Bowl for the best under-17 front-of-curtain act and the George Bown Cup for the best song, dance, musical or novelty act with their ‘We are revolting children’ performance.

This year’s auditions are sponsored by Anderson and Wall.
