MARK Strong and Jame McAvoy join forces in an unholy alliance.
LONDON’S shimmering skyscrapers and murky docklands provide the backdrop to this tough crime drama where rookie detective Max Lewinsky (James McAvoy) has one last chance to catch the man he has always been after, ex-criminal Jacob Sternwood (Mark Strong).
When Jacob’s son, Ruan, is found shot at London’s City Airport when a heist goes wrong, prolific criminal Jacob Sternwood is forced out of his Icelandic hideaway.
When the gangster returns to his home turf, his arch-nemesis in the police force, Max Lewinsky, has the opportunity to take him off the streets forever and he takes an all-consuming interest in Ruan’s case in the hope of tracking him down.
However, a larger conspiracy looms, bringing a momentary truce between Max and Sternwood as they must work together to save their own skins.
Directed by Eran Creevy, who broke through with BAFTAnominated Shifty in 2008, the film brings a dash of Hollywood sheen to this slick cops and robbers crime movie.
Written by Eran Creevy, the script came third in the 2010 Brit List of the best unproduced screenplays in British film.
