THURS: Cowgirl jazz gig from the Senile Delinquents, Burnham
2:37pm Friday 11th October 2013 in What's On
A COWGIRL jazz night from The Senile Deliquents (pictured) is next up at Burnham Acoustic Club’s regular live music showcase, held every third Thursday of the month.
Somerset’s premier alt-bluegrass outfit are singers Mikki Barry (banjo) and Kara J Richards (guitar), peddling their love of harmonies and ‘more than slightly wrong’ love stories.
Barry and Richards met 25 years ago while living in horse-drawn caravans, where they found an affinity busking together and playing around campfires.
After forming for good in 2011, the duo travelled to Southern Morocco to record their first EP, ‘The Banjo, The Bucket and The Gun’, released last year.
At Burnham’s Acoustic Club in Victoria Street next Thursday (October 17) they’ll also be playing material from their latest release, ‘A Short Study on the Nature of Love and Drink’.
The gig starts at 8pm and entry is £4 for non-members and £1.50 for students and children.
