MAKE a mean chilli?
Entrants for 2014’s official South West England Chilli Cook-off can sign up now for next year’s hot and spicy competition… in Burnham.
The Burnham-on-Sea Food and Drink festival is set to play host to the big-flavour event on May 24 next year.
Keen cooks will be given four hours to produce a gallon of chilli con carne from scratch, and submit one cup of chilli for judging, to be in with the chance of impressing the public’s tastebuds and winning £250.
Local estate agents, Saxons, is sponsoring the competition.
Festival organiser, Beverley Milner Simonds, said: “The winner of the UK Final will win a trip to Las Vegas, Nevada, with flights and accommodation, to represent the UK in the World Food Championships. The prize purse for the Chilli category is a whopping $25000.”
