THERE are just days to go until the rousing voices of the 54-strong Burnham and Highbridge Choral Society fills St Andrew’s Church in Burnham.

Society chairman Bev Hearn said: “We’ll be singing four choruses from the Messiah, some Rutter, and songs by Benjamin Britten, whose centenary has been celebrated this year. It’ll also be the first performance of its kind for Nick Bromilow, our new musical director.”

Young choristers from St Andrew’s School are also set to perform four items, and a group of brass players from King Alfred’s School will accompany audience members as they make their way into the venue.

The congregation should come prepared to warm up their vocal cords for some traditional carol singing, to charge the festive mood.

The concert is at 7pm on Thursday, December 12.

Tickets cost £5 as standard, or £2.50 for children over 5, from Grandma’s Attic on Victoria Street, society members or on the door
