WILDLIFE expert, punk fan and Springwatch veteran Chris Packham has been secured to appear at Weston’s Playhouse Theatre as part of its newly-announced Spring 2014 season.

Starting out a self-professed “precocious young scientist” with large collections of reptiles, Packham set himself up as a wildlife photographer, advancing to cameraman, and then onto the Really Wild Show in 1986.

The rest, as they say, is history.

In his touring show, Wild Night Out, Packham gives his audiences entertaining and informative insights into the ecologies and behaviours of nature’s most popular and interesting species, illustrated with the snaps he’s taken in locations around the world.

His tale will wend from species as diverse as leopards and barn owls to Polar bears and peregrines, scraping by his close shaves, dipping into his forthright views, and delve into the matter of conservation – along with the lengths he’ll go to to get the picture he wants.

Chris Packham’s Wild Night Out starts at 7.30pm on Thursday February 6.

Standard tickets cost £18.50, concessions £17.50, and children’s tickets £13, including a £1 booking fee, from 01934-645544 or www.theplayhouse.co.uk
