STRIKING photos which give a fresh perspective on the everyday can be seen for another fortnight at Burnham Princess’s Arts Lounge.

Experimental amateur photographer, Davina Tromans (pictured), an RSCPA volunteer in Burnham and former bookseller, began delving into the art form after moving from the Midlands.

Architecture and coffee cups count among her subjects of choice.

Among the shots captured in her first ever exhibition, is St Andrew’s Church in Burnham, a listed Victorian gazebo, and Lincoln Cathedral.

As to what caught her eye about the ‘Clock and Cockerel’ of St Andrew’s Church, Davina said: “It was the brightness of the clock and the cockerel, against the vivid blue sky. I like really sharp, bright colours, and the way it was shining, and that contrast with the stonework, I thought, ‘wow’.”

So what impact has Davina’s show had?

Neil Hansford, Arts Lounge co-ordinator, said: “The conversations people have been having in the arts lounge have been very promising. They like the unusual take of her photography, taking slightly obscure angles, and not just taking the entire object, but small snippets of places.”

Davina said: “I’d like to thank Neil and all the team for the opportunity and their support.”

To view Davina’s results, drop into Burnham Princess’ Arts Lounge between 10am and 3pm, Tuesday to Saturday.
