THE sights and sounds of the Burmese jungle have been brought to Weston’s Helicopter Museum for an exhibition to mark its 25th anniversary.
The current show also tells of a daring Second World War rescue mission that took place 60 years ago in April 1944.
The mixed-media exhibition takes visitors through the events that saw Lieutenant Carter Harmon airlifting wounded British soldiers from behind Japanese lines to safety.
Along with audio descriptions, information boards on the famous pilot, and a new activity room for children, it will also look into the history of the helicopter used in the rescue, the Sikorsky R-4.
Opening times are 10am to 4.30pm, Wednesday to Sunday, with last admission one hour before closing.
Entry to the museum is £6.50 for adults, £5.50 for senior citizens, £4.50 for children aged 4-15, £20 for a family with two adults and three children, and £18 for a family of two adults and two children.
