TOM Jones, the man who delighted the world with ‘Delilah’, ‘What’s New Pussycat’ and ‘Sexbomb’, is, without a doubt, Welsh singing dynamite.
On Thursday July 10, tribute Glen Leon looks set to bring some of Tom’s fire and brimstone to Weston’s Playhouse Theatre.
“I’ve been in the business for 28 years now,” Glen tells the Weekly News. “I’ve got all the big Tom songs in my repertoire, including some you don’t hear very often, such as ‘Impossible Dream’, and other show songs.”
So why did he choose Tom? “I think he’s brilliant, and for him to still be going now, and singing as good as ever, as well as appealing to a younger audience, it’s fantastic.”
As to Glen’s personal Tom preferences? “I kind of like his earlier songs from the sixties, and I do celebrate that aspect of his career.”
Tickets to see one night of Tom Jones at 7.30pm on Thursday July 10 with Glen Leon cost £22 or £21 www.parkwoodtheatres.co.uk or call the box office on 01934-645544.
