BRENDON Books is giving County Gazette readers the opportunity to meet prolific author and adventurer Sir Ranulph Fiennes.

The former British soldier will be giving a talk on his latest book, Agincourt, and will also be signing copies for you to purchase.

The book tells stories dating back to October 25, 1415, on a French hillside near the village of Agincourt, where four men sheltered from the rain and prepared for battle.

Nearly 600 years after the Battle of Agincourt, Sir Ranulph casts new light on this epic event that has resonated throughout British and French history.

He explains how his own ancestors were key players through the centuries of turbulent Anglo-French history that led up to Agincourt, using his experience as an expedition leader and soldier to give a fresh perspective on one of the bloodiest periods in medieval history.

The event takes place from 6.30pm on Wednesday, October 22.

Those attending are advised to reserve a place to avoid disappointment.
