AN exhibition in the café area of the Princess Theatre and Arts Centre in Burnham, features a celebration of nature by the artist Annette Rigler.
Her neo impressionistic style uses the texture of the paint and the marks of the brush and pallet knife to give a vivid finish to fields of summer flowers and the landscape of the Somerset Levels.
The artist lives locally and has been a fixture in Somerset Arts Weeks for several years. Her work is on display in Gallery 2 until March 12 while a new show is in Gallery 1 with the artist Dylan Seymour’s work.
Annette began painting when she retired in 2003, and has participated in Somerset Art Weeks for the last 5 years.
She has lived in a cottage in Somerset for over 40 years and takes her inspiration from the Somerset Levels and her cottage garden. She produces paintings which have a vibrant and unique quality, both in style and colour.
