LOVE her or loathe her Margaret Thatcher was one of the most successful women of the 20th century.

From her roots in a grocer’s shop in Grantham, she rose to study chemistry at Oxford to the landslide 1979 election victory.

On 3 May at Burnhams Princess Theatre you can see the formidable Lesley Smith bring to life this extraordinary woman using entirely the words of Margaret Thatcher. Inspired by the autobiography ‘The Path to Power,’ we will hear her take Thatcher’s journey to 10 Downing Street.

Lesley Smith, curator at Tutbury Castle, has built a reputation portraying the 'Women Who Shaped Britain' with academic excellence and wealth of experience. Performing as Margaret Thatcher is the latest incarnation for the historian who has developed a following for her representations of historical figures such as Mary Queen of Scots, Boudicea and Anne Boleyn.
