Unsigned band reaches national final

TWO talented young musicians from Ashcott have reached the national finals of an up and coming band competition.

Sam and Esther Boxell, together with two other members of their band All about Flux, will be competing in the Live and Unsigned competition at the Guildhall, Portsmouth, next Saturday, June 27.

The competition is for unsigned acts under 18 and receives more than 10,000 registrations.

Having got through the auditions, regional and area finals, All about Flux will now represent the South-West in the hope of walking away with an impressive recording contract and the title of UK’s Best Unsigned Act 2009.

They will play before a capacity crowd and will be judged by a panel of experts including former manager of the Sex Pistols, Malcolm McLaren, Radio 1’s Annie Nightingale, Dane Bowers and a host of other music industry buffs.

All About Flux have been together since last September. They have already recorded an EP which sold out in the first two weeks of release and have performed many gigs.
