A TALENTED 'folk 'n' roll' musician will be performing with his band at Bridgwater Arts Centre on Thursday, February 11, backed by a wealth of experience.
Phil Beer is the multi-instrumentalist half of acoustic duo Show of Hands, whose instrumental wizardry has been employed by legendary artists including The Rolling Stones, Mike Oldfield and Steve Harley.
For many years, he was lead guitarist and singer with the Albion Band, co-writing many of their songs, and has dipped into the media of film and television music as well as finding time to produce and record albums for other artists.
His band play a unique blend of folk 'n roll which is quite unlike any other band currently on the circuit.
Gareth Turner on Melodeons has been a member of the Albion Band while Miranda Sykes - on double bass, guitar and vocals - is a much sought-after musician on the folk 'n' roll scene.
Bassist Nick Quarmby plays his instrument of choice with Colvin Quarmby as well as being part of the legendary The Dockery Boys.
Steve Crickett divides his time between playing drums and helping manage a provincial theatre. He and Phil have been in several bands over the years including the Arizona Smoke Revue, the roots rock sensation of the early '80s.
The event starts at 8pm. Tickets are £15 from the box office on 01278-422700.
