THE Bridgwater Friends Group for the Children’s Hospice South West will be holding a country fayre and music festival on Saturday, June 23, and Sunday, June 24.

The huge event will be held at RM Smith Playing Fields, Cossington and preparations are well under way.

There will be over 50 stalls and lots of fun games and activities to keep children entertained such as train rides, bouncy castle and slide. There will also be opportunities to get up close and personal with animals from Secret World.

The country fayre, on Saturday, June 23, will be opened at 11am by John Reynolds, world record holder for the 450-mile run. BBC Somerset’s Emma Britton will be broadcasting her show live from the event along with other musical acts such as North Somerset Piano Accordian Club and the Burnham on Sea choral society.

A ploughman's lunch will be available between 11.30am and 1pm at a cost of £6 per head and there will also be an all day BBQ. A refreshment tent will provide plenty of home-made cakes, strawberries and cream, homemade puddings and light refreshments.

For those wanting something stronger there will also be a well- stocked beer tent.

The music festival on Sunday, June 24 will start at 2pm (gates open at 1pm). Again, there will be a variety of stalls, and refreshments.

Live music will include Michael Jackson Tribute Mikki Jay, Two Tone, Young Generation and many more. There will also be a bouncy castle and slide for the children.

Tickets to the music festival are £5 for adults and £15 for a family ticket (two adults and two children), with a charge of £1 per extra child. Family tickets will cost £20 if purchased on the gate.All money raised will go to the Children's Hospice South West.
