Flower festival blooms at East Huntspill
 |
| The Rural Life arrangement of flowers bought blossoming buds to All Saints Church in East Huntspill |
EAST Huntspill's Organ Flower Festival burst into bloom last weekend, as exhibitors displayed their brightly coloured creations at All Saints Church in the village.
Crowds flocked to the annual spectacular during the bank holiday weekend for a combined festival and May Fair, which raised cash to refurbish the church organ.
There were more than 30 displays -all spelling out the word organ.
The letter "O" was represented by flowery themes from the Old Testament and organic produce; the "R" was represented by displays of remembrance, from the Royal British Legion, recycling and rural life and the "G" saw groups from the village exhibit colourful bouquets.
Letter "A" was represented by the 40-year anniversary of the organ in the church and a creative angel was fashioned out of flower by one creative exhibitor.
Finally "N" was shown by a display on the NHS as well as themes from the New Testament and A Note For You - a musical showing.
The three-day festival also combined with the village May fete, which saw families enjoy cracking activities in the bright East Huntspill weather.
Myra Cox, co-ordinator of the flower festival, told the Weekly News: "It was absolutely brilliant, we had lots and lots of people who came and put comments in the visitors book.
"It was a very good turnout and the standard was extremely high.
"I would like to thank everyone who came and helped out at the festival."
