AN NHS manager dedicated to dementia patients in Burnham has been hailed as a “role model wrapped in humility”.

Carol Prichard has seen a 20% year-on-year increase to the Somerset Partnership NHS Foundation Trust’s Burnham Memory Assessment Service, which she developed several years ago.

Carol has enabled patients and carers to have immediate access to help and support, overseeing 90% of new clients herself.

At this year’s Trust staff recognition awards, chairman Linda Nash said: “Carol has worked tirelessly for the memory assessment service and it came as no surprise when the service was assessed as ‘excellent’ following a visit by the National Accreditation Programme for the Royal College of Psychiatry.

“As a role model for students and staff alike, Carol exemplifies the qualities of public service with her ‘can do’ attitude is wrapped in humility.”
