SIXTEEN pupils from Hugh Sexey Middle School have been praised for doing well in a maths challenge.
The Year Six students entered the Junior Maths Challenge at Wells Cathedral School last week and battled it out against 16 other teams.
The Hugh Sexey pupils were divided in four teams of four; with Bonnie, Samantha, Alex and Bethan on Team 1; Ava, Beth, Myles and Jonathan on Team 2; Melissa, Lucy, Will and Harry on Team 3 and Alice, Amy, Simon and Ben on Team 4.
Team 2 won the overall poster competition to design a poster about Triangles.
Overall, the day saw Team 2 come second, with silver medals. Team 1 came third, Team 4 came seventh and Team 3 came twelfth.
Headteacher Jenny Venning said: “These results were fantastic for our teams, who came highly placed out of the 16 teams that entered.”
