Sleeping Beauty at The Playhouse
BEAT the winter blues by catching one of the last performances of this year’s pantomime at The Playhouse Theatre in Weston, Sleeping Beauty.
Packed with adventure and audience participation, it is brimming with talent from a host of celebrities, including Lorraine Chase and X factor duo Same Difference.
Chase plays wicked fairy Carabosse in a cast including Sean and Sarah Smith, aka Same Difference.
Sarah waves the wand of sweetness and magic as the lovely Lilac Fairy, who battles with evil Fairy Carabose, who has cast a spell on Princess Aurora.
Sean is a dashing Prince sent to awaken the Princess with a magical kiss, and with his handsome hero looks he’s sure to break a few hearts.
The production also sees the return of father and son act Simmons and Simmons, who stormed the Playhouse with their comedy madness and mayhem in Aladdin last Christmas.
Making a return as Muddles is the diminutive, energy-fuelled Terry Gleed, who delighted as Wishee Washee in Aladdin.
Panto dame Nurse Katy Cough Drop will deliver a diva-sized performance.
Just a handful of performances – daytime and evening – remain in this year’s run, which ends on Sunday, January 6.
Tickets, starting at £13.50, are available at www.theplayhouse.co.uk or by calling 01934-645544
