Cash for community groups from Burnham and Highbridge Town Council

GRANTS worth thousands of pounds have been handed out to community groups by Burnham and Highbridge Town Council.
Representatives from more than a dozen projects collected cheques for their schemes this week.
Among the groups to benefit is Burnham Choral Society, which has been granted £250 towards its programme of speakers and day trips.
Highbridge Festival of the Arts received £210 for ID badges and printing costs, while Highbridge Area Food Bank got £250 to help fit out its premises.
Highbridge in Bloom received £200 to go towards the Jubilee Gardens while Burnham Swimming Club received a grant of £500.
Burnham United FC Juniors received £300 to help pay for new mini goals while Burnham and Highbridge Stroke Club received £120 to go towards transport costs.
Highbridge and Burnham Carnival Association got £200 to buy new road signs while Monarchs Gymnastics Club got £750 for safety rigging.
Burnham and Highbridge Sea Cadet Unit received £250 to help repair its boat shed roof while the Vale of Avalon Vintage Vehicle Run received £350.
Finally, the Burnham and Highbridge ATe (290) received £200 to help its training and Burnham and Highbridge Community Association got £150 for new chairs.
