Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg visits Highbridge

DEPUTY Prime Minister Nick Clegg was in Highbridge this morning, to launch the Lib Dems' campaign to regain control of Somerset County Council. 

Mr Clegg was joined by former Lib Dem leader, Lord Ashdown, and Somerset Lib Dem MPs Jeremy Browne, David Heath, David Laws, and Burnham and Highbridge MP Tessa Munt.

Mr Clegg enjoyed a cuppa at the Morland Hall in Highbridge, where he also gave a talk to Lib Dem supporters.

He also met Lib Dem Helen Groves, who is standing in the district council by-election for Highbridge Marine and Burnham on January 24.

The county council elections will take place on May 2.
