ORGANISERS of the Highbridge Festival of the Arts have more than six hundred reasons to thank these talented youngsters.
The members of the Lucy Gunter Dance Centre in Highbridge are pictured presenting a cheque for £602 to the festival - which has been beset by funding problems in recent years.
The money was raised through two glitzy events - a cabaret show and dinner at the Batch Country House in Lympsham, called A Night at the Hollywood Oscars, and a similar event at Burnham's Princess Theatre, called Hooray for Hollywood.
The dance centre members organised a prize draw running alongside both shows, which secured excellent prizes from several local businesses.
Lucy Gunter, principal, said: “Both events ran very smoothly and proved extremely successful for all involved.
“We are very grateful to all that donated prizes for our draw and to all who supported us with this and all who came to watch.
“We hope we have helped the Highbridge Festival with this donation as we appreciate they have struggled to continue in recent years and think it would be such a shame if it could not continue.
“As many of our students take part in the festival across dance, music and drama, we all felt that this would be a great cause to make our donation to.”
