BURNHAM and Highbridge MP Tessa Munt has welcomed the appointment of a nationwide adjudicator who will hear complaints from farmers and suppliers who feel supermarkets are treating them unfairly.
Ms Munt said the appointment of independent Groceries Code Adjudicator Christine Tacon, was an important milestone in the campaign to get a fairer deal for farmers and suppliers.
“Many receive unfair prices and are struggling to stay in business,” she told the Weekly News.
“This damages our local community and our local economy."
