NEARLY one in six children in Sedgemoor is living in poverty, it has been claimed.
The Campaign to End Child Poverty, which has published its child poverty map of the nation this week, says that in some parts of the South-West, such as Bristol, the figure is as high as one in four.
Enver Solomon, CECP chairman, said: “While the levels of deprivation in the South-West of England are not as high as other parts of the country, there are still far too many children whose parents are struggling to make a living.”
