Tessa Munt MP locked in HoC library
BURNHAM MP Tessa Munt found herself locked in the House of Commons Library last night, having stayed to work late.
The Liberal Democrat took to social media site, Twitter, to vent her frustration at being trapped just before midnight after officials locked the library doors.
This morning Tessa (@tessamunt) tweeted: “Finding myself locked into the House of Commons Library at nearly midnight offers a different angle on the #Welovelibraries campaign!”
Commenting on the story hitting the headlines, Tessa added: “That'll teach me to work late!”
Her colleague, Conservative MP Therese Coffey, who was trapped in the building with Tessa, also took to Twitter. She said: “Tessa Munt and I have been locked in House of Commons library while we were working. Still waiting for Security to unlock the doors."
According to Ms Coffey, the MP for Suffolk Coastal, the pair had had phoned for assistance four times before being freed from their plight after around 20 minutes, near midnight.
Taunton councillor and Lib Dem, Justine Baker, tweeted: “Always knew @tessamunt was dedicated and hard working but to be locked in the library after hours is taking it a bit too far...! #librarygate.”
