Somerset school meals free of horsemeat

No horsemeat in Somerset schools. No horsemeat in Somerset schools.

SCHOOL meals served up in Somerset are free of horsemeat, test results show.

Somerset County Council’s Trading Standards team carried out testing following the recent horsemeat scandal.

All 28 of the samples analysed which were taken from a broad range of suppliers across the county have been found to be clear of horsemeat, a spokesman confirmed.

The spokesman added: “We are pleased that the results have come back showing no signs of horsemeat.

“We will remain vigilant and continue the process of testing food.”
