Tributes to Sedgemoor community stalwart Jessica Vale

TRIBUTES have been paid to Jessica Vale, a fervent supporter of Bridgwater’s heritage, who died suddenly last Monday, after suffering a brain haemorrhage.

Jessica was for several years Sedgemoor District Council’s museums officer, based at the Blake Museum in Bridgwater.

She was also a keen supporter of other museums such as Westonzoyland Pumping Station.

A spokesperson for Sedgemoor District Council told the Mercury that she would be remembered for her “passion and commitment to keeping our history and heritage in the forefront of local people’s minds, especially the local schoolchildren who regularly visited the Blake Museum”.

Her manager at the council, Teresa Harvey, said: “Her untimely death came as a shock to us all at SDC and she will be very sadly missed by those who worked with her.”

Alan Hurford, clerk to Bridgwater Town Council, which now runs the museum, said: “She was always helpful and a firm supporter of the museum.”
