LIDL has applied for planning permission to extend its supermarket in Oxford Street, Burnham, by 122sq metres.

The extension would be to the south elevation of the store, and seven car parking spaces would be lost.

Lidl says the proposals would add “much-needed warehouse space”.

One nearby resident, Susan Butt, has written to Sedgemoor District Council to object, on the grounds of light pollution to her home.
