FIREFIGHTERS from Burnham were sent out to two fires involving diggers just minutes apart.
They were at Bristol Road, East Brent, and Weston Road, Lympsham, just after midnight.
The vehicle in East Brent was damped down by fire crews using two hose reel jets.
In Lympsham, a mini-digger and an excavator, involved in water mains excavations, were found well alight in a field.
Crews used a compressed air foam systems jet and one hose reel jet via a street hydrant to put out the flames.
Police and firefighters are investigating the causes of both fires.
