Mark Harvest Home is labelled a success
THIS year’s Mark Harvest Home has been labelled “a great success” by organisers.
The luncheon introduced reserved seating this year, allowing more than 460 people to enjoy a feast of locally sourced meats, bread, cider and ale.
The event attracted all ages throughout the day and evening, with children and adults making the most of afternoon sports.
New to this year’s event was a free children’s disco, with local DJ, Olly Eade, keeping them entertained with games and dancing.
The evening saw the return of the annual Tug Of War competition, with a good turnout of teams and plenty of supporters who enjoyed the fantastic atmosphere in the marquee.
Gremlins Carnival Club supplied the bar, butcher F J Scriven provided the pig rolls, and The Riverbrew band continued the evening with great live music.
A spokesman for the Harvest Home committee said: “This traditional event was a day to remember.
“Mark Harvest Home committee would like to thank everyone who attended, all the volunteers and local businesses for all their hard work.
“Lunch tickets sold out in record time - remember to book your tickets early for 2014 to avoid disappointment!”
