Filming on Berrow Dunes for star-studded BBC drama
BBC film crews headed to Berrow Dunes to shoot scenes for a new period drama set in a First World War field hospital.
Filming for The Ark took place over two weeks in September.
The council’s property manager, Tim Mander, who set up the filming agreement, said: "It was great news that the BBC choose Berrow Beach and Dunes as the location to film part of such a prestigious production and demonstrates once more Sedgemoor's reputation as a 'film friendly Council'.
“The BBC team once more expressed their thanks to Graham Newing and his team of beach wardens for the help and assistance they have given.”
The Ark will feature a star-studded line-up, including Oona Chaplin (The Hour, Quantum Of Solace), Hermione Norris (Spooks, Cold Feet), Suranne Jones (Scott And Bailey, The Secret Of Crickley Hall), Kevin Doyle (Downton Abbey, Scott And Bailey), Kerry Fox (Shallow Grave, An Angel At My Table) and Marianne Oldham (WPC 56).
It will run over six, one-hour episodes in 2014.
