DOCTORS in Sedgemoor can now prescribe self-help books as part of a patient’s treatment to improve their mental health.

The Reading Well Books on Prescription Scheme, launched by Somerset Library Service, would see libraries stock a list of more than 30 titles.

Louise Finnis, SCC Health Promotion Manager, told the Weekly News: “Self-help reading can help people with common mental health conditions, such as anxiety and depression.”
