BURNHAM is gearing up for an evening of Christmas shopping as more than 60 businesses prepare for the town's festive event tonight (Thursday).
There will be a host of festive entertainment and Burnham Chamber of Trade has organised a shopping initiative to support independent traders and give shoppers more opportunity to visit the town's shops.
A Chamber spokesman said: “We are keen to encourage shoppers into the town centre during the run-up to Christmas and this special event will bring a real festive feel to Burnham.
“We hope traders and local people will support the evening and give Burnham a boost during the busy Christmas shopping period.”
Festive music will be provided by local groups Curtain Call and the Mudlarks Community Choir in Victoria Street and the High Street.
Father Christmas will also be dropping by at the event, courtesy of Burnham Lions, with gifts and many shops will be providing mulled wine and other festive treats.
The shops will open until 8pm and cafes open late will include Mr Beans, Costa, Crafty Teacup, Coffee Corner, Subway and FryDays.
