PLANS for a giant reservoir in Cheddar which will provide water for the Burnham and Highbridge area has been submitted.

Bristol Water plans to build the proposed 9,400 million-litre reservoir next to the existing reservoir in Hythe Lane, Cheddar.

The £125million project could be fully operational by 2025 if approved by Sedgemoor District Council.

Jeremy Williams, project spokesman for Bristol Water, said: “Cheddar Reservoir Two offers the most cost effective solution that is deliverable in terms of environmental and geological considerations.”
