PUPILS from a school near Wedmore are enjoying their lunch breaks at a new Science Club being run by lab technicians.
Lab techs Jeannie Fry and Tamara Reed have opened the club to all year groups at Hugh Sexey Middle School.
Acting head teacher, Liz Stiddard, said: "The two clubs running this term will be called ‘Animal Magic’ and ‘The Green Team’ and will be covering topics from worms to extracting DNA from cheek cells.
"The aim is to have fun filled activities to engage the students in learning about the environment through science. "Future activities will include making bird food and feeders, monitoring and surveying and adding their findings to the RSPB website."
The attendance last term was excellent, resulting in the club running on Tuesday and Fridays.
