SINGERS in Bridgwater are invited to sign up for a record-breaking attempt for the most people performing a song in sign language.

Schools, choirs, businesses and other groups are needed to help beat the previous record of 116,980 signing and singing.

Linda Petrons, from SignHealth, which is organising the sign2sing fundraiser, said: “We’re hoping lots of children and adults from Bridgwater will sign up for the event.

“We have run the fundraiser successfully for the past three years and our aim for the 2014 event is to inspire our next generation of healthcare professionals to learn some sign language and recognise the importance of good communication.”

Each group participating will sign and sing at their own school or office on Wednesday, February 5 along with – hopefully – more than 120,000 people around the country.
