RNLI lifeguards have reported one of their busiest years since the service was launched in 2001.
In 2013 the RNLI lifeguards took over the lifeguard service from Sedgemoor District Council at Burnham and provided, for the first time, a lifeguard service at neighbouring Berrow beach.
They dealt with 66 incidents, and assisted 70 people while also providing essential beach safety information, preventing many more incidents occurring.
