FRACK Free Somerset, a coalition of more than 30 groups across Somerset and Bristol, have launched 'Frack Free February'.

The month of action features more than 24 public events from public meetings and film showings to demonstrations and workshops about how to take direct action and more.

Volunteers are door dropping leaflets in villages across the county and more than 100 people have been involved in making the month of action happen.

Anne Watts from Frack Free Somerset said: “Frack Free February is a positive demonstration of how organised communities in Somerset are and that we will not accept Government bribes, corporate greenwash or any other attempts to impose unconventional gas on our communities that prefer clean water and air.

“With all of the events taking place, we aim to support even more people to get involved to defend their community from unconventional gas drilling."

More than 650 square kilometres of Somerset is licensed for unconventional gas exploration.
