Man taken to Musgrove with injuries following M5 accident

- A man in his 30s has sustained chest and back injuries after accident on the M5, say ambulance service, and is in Musgrove.
- All lanes reopened between J23 A39 (Bridgwater North) and J24 A38 (Bridgwater South).
A MAN in his 30s is now in Musgrove Hospital following the single-car collision on the M5 motorway earlier today.
It is said he is currently being treated for chest and back injuries.
A spokeswoman for South Western Ambulance Service said: "The fire service helped by taking the roof of the car off so we could take the patient out and keep them flat and as still as possible before they could be further checked in hospital."
TWO lanes have now been reopened on the M5. Traffic is reported to be still slow.
INFORMATION from Avon and Somerset Police states that lanes one and two (of three) are currently closed, while sensors suggest slow traffic half way between J23 and J24.
The Highways Agency is now on the scene.
AVON and Somerset Police spokesman Wayne Baker, gives the latest:
"We were called to reports of a road traffic collision at about 11.15am this morning between junctions 23 and 24, involving a single car, reported to be in collision with the hard shoulder crash barrier.
"There was a person, a man, in the car reported to be injured."
Fire and ambulance are in attendance, and lane one of then motorway has been closed to allow fire crews to free the man from the vehicle, who will then be taken to hospital.
DEVON and Somerset Fire and Rescue has confirmed that a single vehicle was involved in the accident on the M5.
POLICE are thought to be on the scene and traffic is said to be "moving well" - updates to follow.
ONE lane is currently closed on the M5 due to what police have described as a "serious accident" on the M5 Southbound between J23 A39 (Bridgwater North) and J24 A38 (Bridgwater South).
