AISHA Bellamy might resemble music star Taylor Swift, but it isn’t just looks they have in common.

The teen singing sensation will soon be belting out some of the American’s most famous hits across the UK after being snapped up as the singer-songwriter’s impersonator.

The 17-year-old, above, who attends Bridgwater College, is hoping the deal will open the door to her own glittering music career.

Aisha said: “Taylor’s my idol and one of my biggest influences getting into music, so I’m excited but scared at the same time.

“I must have gone three years listening only to her, so it’ll be great to perform her music to crowds.

“I hope to do this for a few years, and then carry on writing and performing my own music, hopefully with a record deal.”

It all came about when Aisha approached Oake Manor Golf Club to ask if they would be interested in her performing some of Taylor’s songs there.

An audition followed and her performance was so eye-catching they put her in touch with an agent who is in the process of arranging further gigs.

“It’s a long way from performing in my bedroom or smaller venues, but I’m looking forward to it,” said Aisha, who is making a name for herself in pubs and music clubs across the area.

Aisha, of Taunton, has already captivated audiences in The Plough, The Castle Green, Milverton Music Club and other venues, playing a mix of covers and her own material.

This week she was asked to play at the UK Country Radio festival in Worcestershire in June.

Aisha said: “When I was younger I was in the choir and thought I wasn’t good enough to sing, but one day I thought I’m just going to go out there and see what people think.

“So far it’s going good, and I love writing and performing. A lot of my music is based on real life experiences that come to you in a moment of inspiration.

“I’ve got a lot of things on at the minute and I hope more to come.”
