A BURNHAM estate agent is preparing to sky drive from up to 13,000ft in memory of his friend’s daughter who lost her battle with a heart condition.

Edward Creswick, managing director of CJ Hole, plans to make the jump on June 8 in memory of Sian Wood, who died of a heart condition at just 24 years old.

He got to know Sian’s mother and step-father through the Glastonbury and Street Musical Comedy Society last year when he joined after a gap of 25 years.

Edward told the Weekly News: “They were very welcoming and made feel totally at ease in a large cast of actors, many of whom I’d not met before.

“When I read posts from Karen about her daughter on Facebook it made me feel very sad. Karen even had to struggle to get access to her daughter’s grave on her birthday due to the floods and this was very upsetting for all her friends to see how much she desperately missed her.

“I decided I wanted to do something positive; something that would put a huge smile on Karen’s face, something positive to keep Sian's memory alive and something positive to raise important funds for the British Heart Foundation, a charity very dear to Sian and her family.”

In a statement, Sian’s family said: “She was the centre of a diverse and adoring network of family and friends, who miss her deeply now that she is gone.

“Memories of her laughter, cups of tea and bowls of popcorn will be cherished eternally by those who remain. Sian lived her life in defiance of constant challenges and frustrations with fierce independence and an indomitable spirit, constantly surpassing the expectations of those around her.”
