BURNHAM MP Tessa Munt has been challenged to “live below the line” by South-West charity Send a Cow to raise money and awareness for Africa’s poorest families.

Thirty-five different charities across the country are asking their MPs to eat and drink on just £1 a day for five days this week.

Ms Munt said: “It’s definitely going to be a challenge, and will require a lot of planning and discipline.

“I’m constantly on the go, either in Somerset or London, and like many people I take the availability of food and drink for granted.”

Send a Cow works in seven countries in Africa, and also educates children in the South-West about poverty in Africa and the farming methods there.
